Diablos Al Pastor Carlos Hernandez and The Amazing Hancock Bros

  • Las Almas Rotas 3615 Parry Avenue Dallas, TX, 75226 United States (map)

We’re kicking off our changing art series with an opening for the works of Carlos Hernandez and The Amazing Hancock Brothers! Join us on Saturday October 5th for the pachanga featuring large scale works from the artists as well as smaller print pieces available.
The work of Houston-based serigraphy artist Carlos Hernandez has been featured in the 2011 Communication Arts Typography annual, the 2011 & 2012 Communication Arts Illustration annual and was also recently published in the 2012 book Mexican Graphics by Korero Books-UK. He has designed and printed gig posters for such artists as The Kills, Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, Santana, and more. Most recently, he was selected as the official poster artist to design the commemorative poster for the 2013 Austin City Limits Music Festival. Carlos is a founding partner of Burning Bones Press, a full-service printmaking studio located in the Houston Heights, and has served as an instructor of Screen Printing at Rice University, Department of Visual and Dramatic Arts.

Charles and John Hancock are the duo that make up The Amazing Hancock Brothers. Their multi disciplinary work spans the gamut from live performances to lo-fi printmaking. Their iconoclastic works are done on non traditional materials such as mattress covers, old tin sheeting and various flotsam. They are members of the Dirty Printmakers of America and the Outlaw Printmakers. Their works reflect a punk attitude that isn’t afraid to blur genres and offers no apologies for any offended sensibilities.

We’re proud to host these iconic Texas artists for our first of many art events. It’s sure to be an evening to remember so don’t miss out!

Please note that the State Fair is going on so we encourage you to take a ride share or public transportation.
